Life and Death is The Power of Our Tongue

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1 ESV

Word – God (3 expressions of “Word”, representing Father, Son, Holy Spirit) / He - Jesus

In Him (Christ) was the Life of all creation, but also Life of Light. Jesus said “I came that they may have life…” Jesus also said;

I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14 NLT

The way - Spirit (Holy Spirit), The truth - Word (Father), The life - Christ (Son).

“Me” (Jesus) meaning - my conduct, instruction, integrity, Power, character, righteousness, existence, example by which I’m showing you.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. John 6:63 ESV

The more we operate in and through the Power of the Holy Spirit, our relationship with God becomes stronger. Inviting (by choice – thought/word/deed) access to the Holy Spirit to move in and through us. Every time we turn from sin, we continue to operate in righteousness, which empowers the Holy Spirit’s strength, which strengthens our spirit/soul (mind/will/emotions). Less flesh, stronger spirit (do not grieve/work against the Holy Spirit - Ephesians 4:30).

Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT

When we choose to follow Christ, we are choosing Life to our life. Not just on earth but in the eternal. We are allowing the kingdom of heaven to operate through us by our choices and obedience to God’s Word, which is in and through Christ Jesus (by example).

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. Proverbs 18:21 AMP

The Spirit (God) that raised Christ from the dead, lives in you and lives in me! God thought, then spoke the worlds into existence. All of creation! God spoke what we see into our atmosphere from eternity. What are we speaking from our atmosphere into our life.

Creation began by thought then Word. We could say, “Creation thought” began by thought then “Creative Word”. God has granted us, the choice (Power) of thought and word. Life and death. Which are we loving. Which are we eating. The fresh fruit of Life.

 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows] John 10:10 AMP

The thief is the devil (enemy/darkness) he cannot stand the Light which lives in all of us. His objective is to destroy us through our mind by the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life (1 John 2:16 - all worldly options). But look at the overcoming outcome of God’s love, to send His Son, to grant us the Power of choice, to choose His love so that we may be reunited in right relationship with Him.

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. Luke 6:45 NLT

How do we become, stay and operate in righteousness. By choosing to receive Christ as our Lord and Savior. Confessing with our mouth (power of word) “I’m a sinner, in need of savior and I ask you Lord to forgive my sins, come into my heart, make me new. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and God raised Him from the dead.” Confessing this out loud, you now are saved by grace and the transformational work begins. Walking in obedience to His Word is how we stay in right standing (righteousness) with God. Turning from sin (our old ways) and walking in the Light (Christ Jesus).

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3 ESV

Life giving seed lives within all of us. The “Power within” (Holy Spirit, Christ Jesus). God thought, then He spoke. Picture Jesus thinking, and God is the Source of Thought (Word). Through the development of His structured Thought, He then spoke. “Where there is no vision, the people perish..” (Proverbs 29). We must be able to “see” in our mind (thought) first before we proceed (speak/word). This is the structure of “dreams coming true”.   

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3 ESV

For by your words, you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:37 ESV

Whatever you are speaking over yourself, your loved ones, your life and future. You are creating through the Power of your spoken Word, because God cannot lie. What we are speaking, we are creating. For the Power that lives in Him, lives in us.

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak Matthew 12:36 ESV

Our prayers, are petitions (reminding Him of His Word) to God, through our spoken word of what He has already spoke (written). The Creative Power of our words spoken casually in life, are not casual at all. We wouldn’t be warned sternly that every (idle) word we will give an account for. What a kingdom our words can create and what a disaster to destroy.

That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. Romans 4:17 NLT

We too create things out of nothing. By the Power in and of our spoken word. What are you thinking about. What are talking about. Remember, it is with the mind, that we serve the Lord;

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. Romans 7:25 ESV

The power of our mind is the Power in which the Holy Spirit wants to be invited (take every thought captive to obey Christ – 2 Corinthians 10:5). Choosing Life, is choosing the way that Jesus walked. Christ “inspired by instruction” giving us instruction to be inspired by. Revealing to us that we do not live by bread (flesh) alone but by every spoken Word;

But Jesus replied, “It is written and forever remains written, “MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT COMES OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.” Matthew 4:4 AMP

For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command. Psalm 33:9 NLT

For when he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. Psalm 33:9 ESV

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Psalm 33:9 AMP

What are you thinking. What are you speaking. What are you living. The power is ours. The choice is ours. The Word is life.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edge sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrew 4:12 NLT

Believe by faith. Have faith in your belief.
